How does Bitcoin billing work? +
When you choose a plan, we create a BTCPay Server invoice for the USD amount. You'll see a QR code with the exact BTC amount (calculated at the current exchange rate). Pay on-chain — once the transaction confirms (usually within a few minutes), your plan activates automatically.
How does renewal work? +
PoppaPing does not auto-renew. Before your plan expires, we'll send you an email reminder. You can then renew with a new Bitcoin payment at any time. If your plan expires, you'll be downgraded to the free tier — no data is deleted.
What happens if I overpay or underpay? +
BTCPay Server has built-in tolerance for minor differences due to network fees and exchange rate fluctuations. Small overpayments are accepted as-is. Significant overpayments will be credited to your account. Underpayments below the tolerance threshold will require a top-up payment.
Can I pay with a credit card? +
No. PoppaPing is Bitcoin-only by design. This keeps our costs low (no payment processor fees), our pricing simple, and your privacy intact. If you don't have Bitcoin yet, services like Strike, Cash App, or any Bitcoin exchange can help you get started.
Can I cancel anytime? +
Yes. Since there are no recurring subscriptions, there's nothing to cancel. Your plan simply runs until its expiration date. If you choose not to renew, you'll be moved back to the free plan. Your monitors and data remain intact.
Is there an API? +
A REST API is on our roadmap. For now, you can manage everything through the web dashboard. If API access is important for your workflow, let us know at support@poppaping.com — it helps us prioritize.
Do you offer an SLA? +
PoppaPing is provided on a best-effort basis. We run on dedicated infrastructure across two US regions and aim for near-perfect uptime, but we don't offer a formal SLA with financial credits. We're transparent about any issues on our own status page.
What's included in the free plan? +
The free plan includes 5 monitors with 5-minute check intervals, 1 public status page, email alerts, dual-region verification, and 90 days of check history. No credit card or Bitcoin payment required. It's free forever.
Can I switch plans? +
Yes. You can upgrade to a higher plan at any time — the new plan takes effect immediately. When your current billing period ends, simply choose whichever plan you'd like to continue with.
